Seaford, DE- On 12/22/2016 at approximately 10:00 am, Probation and Parole Officers from the Sussex County Electronic Monitoring unit reported to the residence of Trevion Brown, who is on probation for drug dealing, to try and make contact him reference a violation of his probation. On their way to the home, Mr. Brown was observed standing in the middle of the street at the intersection of Chandler St. and Clarence St, a well-known drug dealing area. Officers contacted Mr. Brown where he was arrested for a violation of probation and patted down for officer safety. During the pat down, officers found a large amount of cash despite Mr. Brown having no job or reported income. Officers then took Mr. Brown to his residence to recover Probations electronic monitoring equipment. When Officers arrived, they found in plain view under the steps to Mr. Brown’s house, a bag of marijuana, which was several small pre-packaged bags in a larger bag, which Brown admitted was his.
Due to a large amount of cash and pre-packaged marijuana, officers obtained permission to conduct an administrative search of Mr. Brown’s residence. Seaford Police Department was contacted to provide security and help process any new charges that may result due to search. Officers from Seaford Probation also responded to assist with the search. During the search, a mass quantity of heroin was found in the kitchen oven. The suspected heroin was packaged in logs and bundles for sale. An additional log of heroin was located on the floor in Mr. Brown's bedroom. Mr. Brown was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity among other pending offenses.
