Wilmington- Delaware Probation and Parole Officers assigned to the Governor's Task Force assist in a month-long investigation into illegal narcotic sales.
On Friday, May 19, 2017, members of the New Castle County Governor’s Task Force, a joint unit comprised of Probation Officers and Troopers, executed a search warrant at the residence of Shane Brown, 37, near Jill Court, Wilmington. During the investigation, Brown was identified by G.T.F. members as a supplier of illegal narcotics which were being sold in the Holly Oak Apartment complex. During the search officers located and seized 1,113 bags of heroin, 25.8 grams of crack cocaine, 9 grams of powder cocaine, 8 Ecstasy tablets, 33 grams of marijuana, 1 semi-automatic handgun, and $4,042.00 in suspect drug sale proceeds.
Shane Brown was arrested without incident and charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Heroin in a Tier 4 Quantity, Possession of Heroin in a Tier 5 Quantity, Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cocaine in a Tier 4 Quantity, Possession of Cocaine in a Tier 5 Quantity, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession of Cocaine in a Tier 1 Quantity, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mr. Brown is currently being held in Howard R Young Correctional in lieu of $738,900.00 cash bail.
