On Tuesday, Delaware Probation and Parole and Dover Police Department worked together to arrest Jerome Miller, 32, an active probationer who was found in possession of drugs and a handgun.
Officers were executing an administrative warrant on Miller when they pulled him over in the area of US 13 and State Street for driving while suspended. During a follow-up search of the vehicle, officers discovered a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. This led Probation to execute an administrative search at Miller's house in the 400 block of Kent Avenue, where they discovered a .380 handgun.
Miller has been charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of marijuana, violation of probation, and driving while suspended. Miller was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Institution instead of $30,750 cash bond.
