Clayton – Delaware Probation and Parole Officers arrest two men for violation of probation and drugs following probationary check.

On Wednesday March 1, 2017 at approximately 7:35 p.m., Delaware Probation and Parole Officers assisted by Delaware State Police assigned to the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF), conducted a home visit on the 1000 block of Longridge Road in an attempt to locate a subject who was wanted for capiases and violation of probation, along with following up on information received about a possible Methamphetamine lab at the residence.  Upon arrival officers were able to detain, James P. Cruson 3rd, 38, for multiple warrants. A second male, Harry E. Dittman Jr., 30 from Clayton, and a 43-year-old female were also contacted in the pole barn and detained for the investigation.  A Probation Administrative search was conducted on the pole barn where Cruson lives, during that search officers found equipment and component mixtures of the manufacturing stages of Meth along with key ingredients in making the drug, as well as .02 grams of Meth.  A search of Harry Dittman’s vehicle, which was parked outside, revealed .03 grams of heroin.

James Cruson and Harry Dittman were arrested and charged as follows:

 Cruson was charged with Operating a Clandestine Laboratory, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was arraigned at JP7 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $8,600.00 cash bond.

Harry Dittman was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was released on $200.00 unsecured bond after being arraigned at JP7.
